Melakam Industrial LLC is hiring an experienced Press Tech Group Leader to lead stamping operations at our Ripon, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. This onsite leadership role is ideal for a manufacturing professional with expertise in metal stamping, tool and die, SMED, lean manufacturing, preventive maintenance, and production leadership . You will drive operational excellence, improve manufacturing processes, develop high-performing teams, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily stamping operations to achieve safety, quality, production, and delivery goals.
• Optimize metal stamping processes using Lean Manufacturing and SMED principles.
• Troubleshoot tooling, die, and production issues while supporting continuous process improvements.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Safety, Tool Room, and Maintenance teams to improve operational performance.
• Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs for stamping equipment and tooling.
• Reduce die changeover time through standardized SMED practices.
• Monitor production metrics and implement data-driven improvement initiatives.
• Coach, mentor, and develop production team members while promoting a positive, accountable work environment.
• Support employee relations and work collaboratively with Union Stewards when applicable.
• Lead manufacturing improvement projects from planning through implementation.
• Maintain compliance with company safety standards and manufacturing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a stamping or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of tool and die principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience implementing SMED, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing manufacturing teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Flexible to support multiple shifts and weekends as operational needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a medium or high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and production performance metrics.

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods during the workday.
• Frequently bend, stoop, and perform repetitive hand movements.
• Lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
