Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for a Senior Equipment Technician position. Applications will be screened after the following filing deadlines at 5PM: 7/6/26, 7/22/26, 8/7/26, 8/31/26 (final).

The Senior Equipment Technician is a lead and/or advanced journey level class in the Fleet Services series for SacSewer. Incumbents serve as crew leads providing technical expertise and training, and assigning, reviewing, and coordinating the work of lower-level staff. Incumbents that are not assigned as crew leads are the only technician assigned to a remote location. Additionally, incumbents in this class are responsible for handling the most difficult and complex repairs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Four (4) years of full-time paid experience diagnosing malfunctions, and repairing and maintaining gasoline, diesel, or alternatively powered vehicles such as medium and heavy-duty trucks, buses, or construction equipment. Coursework from an accredited college, vocational training school, or military training program in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Heavy Maintenance Equipment Repair, or Construction Equipment Repair, or other area or field closely related to the intent of the class may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience on the basis of 2.5 semester units (3.75 quarter units) are equal to one month of experience.
