Assistant General Manager

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for the DETAIL and DRIVE of the club and net memberships. You sit in the driver's seat and DRIVE a team of meticulous and dedicated individuals who consistently strive for perfection by maintaining the club with purpose and attention to DETAIL. You will DEVELOP a well-rounded culture, focusing on retaining members through team inspiration and DELIGHT in the DETAILS. You lead your team down a path of excellence and success while DELIGHTING new members, tackling goals with DRIVE, intensity and passion by demonstrating the following qualities:


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Collaboration with General Manager on business operations and lead facility during their absence
• Drive sales and operational goals while monitoring and reporting KPIs
• Manage revenue streams, retail products and lead membership initiatives/special events
• Oversee equipment maintenance and inventory
• Manage facility maintenance including pool, spa, and amenities
• Address behavioral incidents
• Additional responsibilities as needed

Staff/Faculty Management

• Handle staffing, recruitment, training, retention strategies and conduct/implement team training programs
• Communicate and uphold company policies, including maintenance of CPR certifications, proper uniform requirements, etc., while fostering a positive team culture
• Oversee employee benefits administration

Operational Management/Systems

• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly club audits
• Manage team cleaning schedules (11 AM, 2 PM, 4 PM, and 6 PM) and ensure completion
• Inventory management and purchasing procedures
• Handle staffing schedules, time-off requests, and payroll administration
• Oversee various software systems including ABC, MXM, and CORE
• Coordinate for marketing requests
• Management of incident reporting system and emergency procedures
• Timely reporting of monthly operations management recap

Membership Management

• Knowledge of membership agreements/policies including corporate memberships and insurance-based memberships such as Silver Sneakers, RenewActive and PHPs,
• Oversee payment processing of memberships
• Ensure proper use of the tour program

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years' management experience in service, health, fitness or related industry
• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred
• Valid CPR/AED certification (including infant and child) within the first 45 days of employment and maintain throughout employment
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must hold a valid NM driver's license (acceptable record) and means of transportation (registered and insured)
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office and various other products such as ABC and GymSales
• Learn and pass company processes including sales tour, telephone inquiry, and membership cancellation/freeze.
• Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends as needed

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to eight (8) hours at a time
• Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds
• Must be able to perform the following tasks: walk, squat, bend, stoop, stand, listen, read, and write
