XRay Tach / C-Arm Tech PRN

Qualifications Technologist must be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Occupational Exposure Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards, and may encounter radiation hazards. Responsibilities Reviews and interprets physician orders for diagnostic x‑ray procedures accurately. Validates all patient identification before performing any diagnostic x‑ray procedure. Communicates with patients to obtain medical history and relevant information that is pertinent to the procedure and patient well‑being during the procedure. Validates proper working conditions and technical factors of all imaging equipment and procedure rooms. Explains procedures to patients to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety; ensures patient comfort and safety. Assumes responsibility for patient care during the imaging procedure including infection control. Follows protocols and policies for performing diagnostic x‑ray procedures. Demonstrates competence in collimation, patient positioning, and radiation safety to reduce exposure. Practices radiation safety for patients, family, visitors, and self. Critiques images for quality for interpretation. Acts actively in the Quality Assurance program(s). Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities and deal with them promptly. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with all department and facility members. Shows willingness to learn new procedures and assist in other areas as needed. Participates in on‑call as needed to support the department/facility. Demonstrates competence in utilizing all imaging support equipment, including printers, RIS, and PACS. Accurately operates all functions of the RIS system, including entering orders and charging of all procedures.
