Children & Family Programs Manager

Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week; Exempt

Location: The Matthews House, Fort Collins, CO; hybrid option up to 20% of total work hours

Pay Range: $58,240- $67,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Children and Family Prevention Program Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day oversight and coordination of The Matthews House’s prevention-focused Children and Family programs. This position leads and supports services including Family Resource Navigation, Family Resource Center, Family to Family (F2F), and related family support initiatives. The Manager supervises staff, coordinates program operations, supports grant and contract compliance, strengthens referral pathways and community partnerships, and uses data to improve program quality and outcomes. This role helps ensure services are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, relationship-centered, and aligned with the needs of children and families in our community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Counseling, or a related field is required.
• 4+ years of experience in children and family services, human services, or a related field is required.
• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or administrative role is required.
• Experience supporting multi-program, multi-funded family support, early childhood, or prevention-focused initiatives within nonprofit or public-sector settings is strongly preferred.
• Strong supervision and coaching skills, including reflective supervision, performance feedback, onboarding, and staff development.
• Knowledge of child welfare, early childhood, prevention, education, healthcare, and community-based service systems.
• Experience with grant management, documentation, reporting, compliance, billing, or program budgets.
• Ability to use program data and outcomes to support continuous quality improvement.
• Reliable transportation is required; community-based travel is expected.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Supervision & Operational Leadership – 60%

• Supervise team leads, coordinators, and direct service staff.
• Provide reflective supervision, performance management, onboarding, scheduling support, and day-to-day problem-solving.
• Ensure consistent application of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and equity-centered practices.
• Oversee daily operations of select Children and Family programs.
• Ensure services are delivered with fidelity to models and TMH standards.
• Monitor workflows, caseloads, and service timelines to maintain quality and access.
• Provide field support as needed to model best practices, support staff, and address service gaps during high-demand periods

Compliance, Billing & Contract Support – 15%

• Support the Director in managing grant and contract requirements (e.g., PSSF, CDEC, FRN, ECN, and county funding).
• Review documentation, approve monthly billing, and ensure timely, accurate reporting and audit readiness.

Data, Outcomes & Continuous Improvement – 15%

• Monitor program data and outcomes in Community Care Link (CCL) and other systems.
• Prepare internal reports, identify trends, and implement quality improvement actions to strengthen service effectiveness and contract performance.

Community Partnerships & Systems Coordination – 10%

• Maintain active relationships with schools, DHS, healthcare providers, early childhood councils, and community organizations.
• Participate in collaborative meetings and support referral pathways and coordinated care.

Assist with other duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday; hours may vary based on business needs.
• Some early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends may be required based on program and community needs.
• Services are provided at The Matthews House locations and throughout the community.
