Junior Data Scientist

Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid – onsite several days per week with flexibility)

Position Overview

ComResource is seeking a Junior Data Scientist. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate or early-career Data Scientist looking to gain hands‑on experience building predictive models, working with machine learning, and supporting AI initiatives in a collaborative environment.

You'll work alongside experienced Data Science leaders on projects that drive business decisions through predictive analytics and forecasting. Key Responsibilities

• Build, test, and improve predictive machine learning models.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover trends and actionable insights.
• Support forecasting initiatives, including demand planning, cash flow, and treasury forecasting.
• Perform data preparation, feature engineering, and model optimization.
• Assist with deploying and monitoring machine learning models in production.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and cross-functional teams to build scalable analytics solutions.
• Translate business challenges into data-driven recommendations.
• Stay current on emerging AI, machine learning, and analytics technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or another quantitative field.
• Recent graduate or 0-3 years of Data Science experience (internships, co-ops, research, or professional experience).
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience writing SQL queries.Understanding of machine learning concepts such as regression, classification, and time series forecasting.
• Experience with common Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Databricks.
• Experience with Git or other version control tools.
• Academic, internship, Kaggle, or personal machine learning projects.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Interest in AI, predictive analytics, and forecasting.
