Summary About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Investigate customer complaints and deficiency reports, provide identification of causes to appropriate authorities. Monitor calibration programs to ensure test and measurement equipment receives regular scheduled maintenance. Utilize sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, to ensure products comply with requirements prior to acceptance. Brief management with detailed explanatory material on problems and irregularities, and propose solutions and supporting documentation. Evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans for weapons systems/vehicles and associated equipment. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which which includes: 1) Utilizing quality assurance principles, concepts, and methodologies such as analyzing, evaluating and inspecting production methods, processes and testing techniques on products such as weapon systems, vehicles and associated equipment, 2) Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective actions and/or program changes based on findings that impact overall service effectiveness, OR 3) Performing statistical and quality data analysis and evaluation to determine if products comply with rules and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed a the second lower grade/level position in the Federal Service (GS-07). OR Education: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. See: Transcripts and Licenses OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
