Surgery - General Physician

Exciting Locum Opportunity for a Neurosurgeon in Petoskey, MI

We are seeking a dedicated Neurosurgeon to provide services at a first-rate healthcare facility in the beautiful town of Petoskey, Michigan. This hospital-based practice is in need of a skilled provider to cover 24-hour call, rounding, and admissions. The facility is equipped with imaging, lab, procedure rooms, and an operating room, with a supportive team that includes other specialists and advanced practice providers. Ideal candidates will have experience performing both spinal and cranial procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide 24-hour call coverage, including rounding and admitting patients.
• Conduct both spinal and cranial surgeries.
• Manage emergency calls and perform emergent surgeries as needed.
• Round on inpatients, with an expected patient load of 5-10 per day.
• Utilize the Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management.
• Coordination with other specialists on site, including neurosurgery APPs and orthopedic surgeons.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Neurosurgery (no Board Eligible candidates will be considered).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience post-fellowship.
• Candidates must be able to perform both spinal and cranial surgeries.
• Clean background check with no actions against the candidate (minimum malpractice history is acceptable).
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
• Prior experience in hospital-based practice is preferred.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active Michigan medical license at the time of submission.
• ACLS certification (required).
• Copy of the NPDB self-query submitted (should be pulled within a month).
