Level P4Location USA east coast west coastTimingPrimary Shift 600 AM EST to 200 PM EST East CoastSecondary Shift 1000 AM MST to 600 PM MST Mountain Standard TimeAfterHours Support Overtime coverage for critical Priority 1 incidents during active engagement periodsCoverage Window 14hour operational span with 1hour shift overlap for seamless handoff and knowledge transferRole MangoDB senior administratorJob ResponsibilitiesDatabase Management Administer maintain and implement permissions policies and procedures for ensuring the secure connectivity and integrity of databasesPerformance Tuning Monitor database performance implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required to ensure optimal performance Work closely with the application teams to optimize the application interaction with NoSQLFailover and Recovery Design and execute database backup and recovery strategies including failover planning and testingMigration and Upgrade Lead projects from onpremises and AWS hosted databases relational databases to NoSQL including planning execution and validation of database migrations and upgradesSecurity and Compliance Ensure database security measures are in place including access controls and audit logging Comply with all applicable data privacy laws and regulationsDefine and implement backup strategies per data retention requirementsDiagnose and resolve production issues as needed 24x7Develop and document best practices for maintenance monitoring migration and failover strategiesMonitoring Utilize AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to ensure database health performance and to automate scaling and notificationsTroubleshooting and Support Provide support for complex database issues including troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues performance issues blocking and deadlocking issues replication issues log shipping issues etcQualificationsRequired Skills and ExperienceThe candidate must have solid NoSQL DocumentDB and MongoDB skills as more and more applications are leveraging NoSQL databasesDatabase Expertise Proven experience as a DBA with expertise in NoSQL databases MongoDBAWS Managed Databases Extensive experience with AWS MangoDB RDS database servicesFailover and Recovery Solid experience in database failover recovery procedures and disaster recovery planningTechnical Skills Proficient in MongoDB Query Language MQL database design and data modeling Familiarity with AWS CLI SDKs and CloudWatchCommunication Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skillsDesired Skills and ExperienceCertifications AWS or relevant database certificationsScripting Skills Experience with scripting languages eg Python Bash for automation of database tasksMonitoring Tools Deep familiarity with database monitoring tools especially AWS CloudWatch for performance monitoring and ingEnterprise Database Management Experience with large enterprise database design implementation and optimizationExperience with MongoDBExperience with Big Query is a plusHighly selfmotivated with the desire to embrace new database technologies and must be able to work independently or within a team in a high demand and dynamic environmentStrong team player with excellent written and verbal skillsAbility to work in a fastpaced development environment with a broad scope of responsibilitiesSelfmotivated passionate about software and driven to achieve committed milestonesStrong communication skills Comfortable with collaboration open communication and reaching across functional bordersCustomer RequirementsClearance Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background InvestigationCitizenship Must be a US CitizenLocation Availability EST and MST hours and flexible to attend on call hours and extended timeline for any major incidents This team utilizes an oncall scheduleCompliance Ability to provide data for any background verification related health and employment as per customer guidelines
