Skill Builder - Per Diem Location: Garden City, NY | Schedule: Up to 19 hours per week | Status: Non-Exempt | Salary Range: $20/hour The Opportunity The Skill Builder provides individual and/or group skill building services to enrolled clients who are at risk of or are diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis. Services are provided in the child's home and/or community within Nassau and Western Suffolk County , are hands on, task oriented and intended to help the child achieve their identified goals. Responsibilities

- Provide in-person services to assist the youth in developing and applying skills in natural settings.
- Provide hands on and task-oriented activities based upon the youth's care plan.
- Provide advocacy skills to the youth being served.
- Plan and run skill building groups on site.
- Complete progress notes for all client contacts
- Deliver and document services using a strength based and family driven approach.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned to support the operations of the program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years' experience in children's mental health, or a related human services field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
- Valid and clean driver's license required.
