Skill Builder - Per Diem

Location: Garden City, NY | Schedule: Up to 19 hours per week | Status: Non-Exempt | Salary Range: $20/hour

The Opportunity

The Skill Builder provides individual and/or group skill building services to enrolled clients who are at risk of or are diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis. Services are provided in the child's home and/or community within Nassau and Western Suffolk County , are hands on, task oriented and intended to help the child achieve their identified goals.

Responsibilities

Provide in-person services to assist the youth in developing and applying skills in natural settings.
Provide hands on and task-oriented activities based upon the youth's care plan.
Provide advocacy skills to the youth being served.
Plan and run skill building groups on site.
Complete progress notes for all client contacts
Deliver and document services using a strength based and family driven approach.
Additional responsibilities as assigned to support the operations of the program.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two years' experience in children's mental health, or a related human services field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
Valid and clean driver's license required.
