Residential Coordinator (Group Homes)

Job Description AHRC New York City is seeking Residential Coordinators (RC) to oversee multiple IRA Residences in Queens and an ICF Residence in the Bronx. The Residential Coordinator directs and coordinates the continuous operation of all residential management systems and the individualized program planning process within a designated region. The RC supervises and trains managers and regional staff in the implementation of management systems. The RC also coordinates the activities of the interdisciplinary team within their designated region and conducts periodic reviews of all management systems for the assistant director and directly managing facilities/programs during periods of vacancy or absence of regularly assigned managers. Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per year plus a very generous and comprehensive benefit package. Essential Responsibilities Directly supervise non‑nursing clinical and consultant team members assigned to the region, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure ongoing compliance and quality assurance with state and federal regulations applicable to the operation of all facilities and programs to which the RC is assigned. Ensure that programmatic needs are met through the coordination and supervision of the interdisciplinary team process. Coordinate services for individuals serviced under the Home and Community Based Services Waiver. Oversee quality and ensure provision of training in all areas for staff under the RC’s jurisdiction as per departmental policy. Review and provide training and support in the administration of management systems and procedures, SCIP techniques, and related behavior management areas; the interdisciplinary process; documentation systems for all program models; individualized habilitation programs for all participants within the region; and all other mandated training areas. Provide managerial oversight and coverage during times of vacancy or absence of regular management staff, as assigned by the assistant director. Provide supervision and direction to non‑medical clinical and consultant staff, and/or ensure the coordination of all medical clinical and consultant staff assigned to the facilities under the RC’s jurisdiction. Interpret agency and departmental policies, procedures, and safety regulations for all staff under the RC’s jurisdiction. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate staff to achieve program goals. Regularly perform activities of staff supervised. Assist in the development of new residential facilities, including physical plant, admission/discharge, and setting up administrative systems. Conduct investigations for personnel and program participant related issues within the RC’s region. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred in Human Services or a related health service field. At least two years experience in a management/supervisory position of a residential group home. Must be knowledgeable in the field of OPWDD and possess a good understanding of OPWDD regulations. Must be qualified to perform the QIDP job duties. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and handle stressful situations when circumstances warrant such action. Must have a valid Tri‑State or New York State driver’s license for more than one year, in good standing.
