The Registered Nurse - House Supervisor serves as the Bed Placement RN Coordinator within the Admit/Transfer Center at a Level II Trauma Center. This role involves coordinating patient admissions and transfers to ensure efficient bed placement and patient flow. The RN will float between units as needed, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and resource utilization. Flexibility with shift lengths and weekend work is required to support hospital operations effectively.
Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse - House Supervisor serves as the Bed Placement RN Coordinator within the Admit/Transfer Center at a Level II Trauma Center. This role involves coordinating patient admissions and transfers to ensure efficient bed placement and patient flow. The RN will float between units as needed, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and resource utilization. Flexibility with shift lengths and weekend work is required to support hospital operations effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate bed placement and patient admissions/transfers within the hospital.
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff and departments to facilitate patient flow.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely and appropriate patient care transitions.
- Monitor unit capacity and staffing to support patient needs and hospital policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to bed assignments and patient movements.
- Provide support and guidance to nursing staff as needed during shift.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in hospital, home health, or hospice care.
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Driver's license, car insurance, and automobile for field work if applicable.
- Experience in bed management or patient flow coordination.
- Previous experience in a Level II Trauma Center or acute care setting.
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system.
- Must work every other weekend.
- No on-call duties required.
- Flexible shift lengths of 10 or 12 hours.
- Role requires floating between units as needed.

- Weekend work every other weekend is required.
- Block schedules and 48-hour work weeks are not approved.
