We are seeking a highly skilled **Senior Java Developer** with expertise in **Java, Spring Boot, GCP, Kafka, Cloud Architecture, Bigtable, REST APIs**, and **DevOps** to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building microservices, event-driven solutions, and distributed systems in a cloud environment. **Knowledge of Digital Assets and Tokenization platforms is a plus**. * Deliver well-designed, quality software in either an agile or waterfall environment* Work on a team to ensure successful delivery of solutions that add value to Huntington's colleagues and customers as-well-as achieve business objectives.* Understand business requirements.* Communicate clearly with business and technology stakeholders to develop a proposed solution.* Be the primary technical team owner of projects and project technical deliverables.**Duties and Responsibilities:*** Develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, GCP, and Kafka.* Build and support scalable REST APIs.* Develop event-driven solutions leveraging Kafka and cloud-native messaging patterns.* Design data models and optimize performance using Bigtable and related cloud databases.* Understand and work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.* Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, security, and product teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.* Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical mentoring activities.* Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Basic Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business or other related field/experience* 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.**Top Technical Skills:** * Strong proficiency in **Java 8/11/17/21** and **Spring Boot Framework**.* Strong hands-on experience with **Java** and **Spring Boot Framework** for building scalable microservices, REST API’s and distributed applications.* Strong understanding of **RESTful API** design, development, security, and integration.* Experience with **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)** services and cloud-native application development.* Hands-on experience with **Apache Kafka** for event-driven and asynchronous processing.* Experience working with **Google Cloud Bigtable** or similar NoSQL databases.* Solid understanding of **Cloud Architecture** principles, including scalability, resiliency, high availability, and fault tolerance.* Experience implementing **CI/CD pipelines** and DevOps practices.* Proficiency with Git, Maven, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar development tools.* Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated quality practices.* Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning skills.* Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.* Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated testing, deployment automation, and monitoring.* Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and Agile software development methodologies. **Preferred Qualifications:*** Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.* Knowledge of cloud security, authentication, authorization, and API gateway technologies.* Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.* Familiarity with observability tools, including logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing solutions.* Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and effectively prioritize them.* Experience with data structures and algorithms for time and memory complexity reduction* Have experience with JWT mechanism for authentication, authorization, and data exchange.* Experience with Apache Maven Build tool to automate the build process for the entire application* Experience with GCP infrastructure* Hands-on experience with GCP Products like Cloud Run , Terraform , Big Data , Big Query* Experience in working on initiatives that involve business segments.* Expert understanding of agile concepts and an agile mindset.
