Travel Consultant Discovering the World – One Member at a Time! A love of travel is the starting point, but to succeed a Travel Consultant must be passionate about travel and the endless opportunities it brings. Strong sales drive, organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment, proficiency in navigating computers and various programs, and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Continuous learning and a drive for excellence are also required. Key Responsibilities Sells international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, travel itineraries, air, car, and hotel accommodations. Shares knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and educational study trips. Develops long‑standing relationships with members and builds referral and repeat business. Makes appropriate recommendations to ensure the trip experience exceeds member expectations and is tailored to their needs. Cross‑sell relevant products to enhance the trip experience, such as the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card, and identifies theft referrals. Participates in the Travel Consultant Trainee program, which includes travel for training. Achieves sales goals, up‑sell, and cross‑sell targets as evaluated by management. Required / Preferred Skills High school diploma required. Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and a thorough urine drug screening. Minimum of 2 years of successful retail sales, banking, or leisure travel agency experience in a goal‑oriented environment preferred. Availability to work most Saturdays and some evenings to support achievement of sales targets. Computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, multiple web browsers, and the ability to type at least 30 words per minute. Strong, organized relationship with paperwork and documentation.
