Tax Senior Staff

JOB SUMMARYAs a Tax Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial information for our clients, such as business and individual tax returns, with the benefit of gaining exposure to a diverse client base operating in a variety of industries. The Tax Senior Staff Accountant works with the Tax Senior Accountant to assist internal leaders to ensure high-quality work is delivered to our clients, while given the opportunity to experience more complex areas of tax and work on the development of supervisory skills necessary to prepare for the Senior level.JOB DESCRIPTIONTax PreparationAssist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entitiesOrganize and review client-provided financial information, ensuring accuracy and completenessUse tax software and tools to input data, calculate tax liabilities, deductions, and creditsResearch and AnalysisConduct tax research to interpret and apply relevant tax laws, regulations, and guidelinesAnalyze financial statements, records, and documentation to identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance issuesAssist in preparing tax projections and estimates to guide clients in making informed financial decisionsClient CommunicationCommunicate with clients to gather necessary information and address inquiries related to tax mattersAssist in explaining complex tax concepts and implications to clients in a clear and understandable mannerCollaborate with internal staff to provide timely updates and recommendations to clients on their tax situationsCompliance and DocumentationEnsure adherence to tax regulations and deadlines, filing tax returns accurately and timelyMaintain organized and comprehensive tax files and documentation for each client engagementAssist in tracking changes in tax laws and regulations and their potential impact on clientsTeam CollaborationCollaborate with other tax professionals within the firm to share insights, knowledge, and best practicesSupport senior team members in complex tax projects, including audits and specialized tax servicesParticipate in internal training sessions to enhance your technical skills and stay updated on industry trendsSupervisory responsibilitiesNoneWork environmentWork is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractionsPhysical demandsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of timeMust be able to lift to 15 pounds at a timeTravel requiredTravel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client’s needsRequired education and experienceBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field2 – 3 years of relevant experienceSoftware: CCH Prosystem FX, Axcess Tax, Axcess Document, Axcess Workstream, Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS, Checkpoint for Tax ResearchPreferred education and experienceExperience in professional service environment, such as a CPA firm, financial consulting firm, or similar settingActively working towards achieving CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure or relevant certification, if not already attainedResponsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirementOther dutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the colleague for this job.
