Work starts at 4am. No holiday, or weekends. Job Summary Perform day‑to‑day tasks to maintain a clean environment in a health care organization. Work independently or in a team environment ensuring proper use of equipment, methods, and techniques to handle laundry safely and appropriately, such as sorting, washing, chemical application, and water temperature. Depending on location, complete assigned tasks based on standard processes and policies. Follow infection prevention guidelines to handle contaminated laundry according to organizational and healthcare industrial laundry standards. Participate in laundry collection and sorting as well as handling, storage, and distribution of clean laundry based on standards. Collect dirty linens (including but not limited to gowns, sheets, towels, blankets, and personal clothing) from wards, rooms, and medical offices; distribute clean and disinfected linens. Complete tasks such as washing, drying, folding linens, sorting and folding clothing, and proper labeling for the organization. Store and secure laundry supplies and equipment as required. Use all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Physical activities include heavy arm and leg use and moving whole body: climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials. Must lift and/or move up to 30-50 lbs and push/pull up to 500 lbs on flat surfaces or ramps. Position requires being on feet for majority of shift. May be exposed to certain noise levels from equipment. Work hours vary based on patient needs. May include overtime, on‑call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to use a computer. Prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in cleaning. Valid driver’s license and good driving record (if required).
