Nurse Practitioner

Job Responsibilities Patient Care – Perform history and/or physical exams, assess and diagnose illnesses including chronic and acute conditions, formulate, document, and monitor a treatment plan, order and monitor therapeutic interventions (diets, laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests), provide clinical consultation and interdisciplinary consults, and prescribe medications in accordance with Federal and State Law & Rules and CCHMC policy. Outcomes Identification and Planning – Develop measurable outcomes, prioritize, evaluate, and modify individualized comprehensive plans of care, involve the patient/family/caregiver when possible, consider risks/benefits, costs, clinical effectiveness, evidence, and clinical expertise, incorporate new knowledge, and maintain documented updates. Professional Practice – Maintain professional behaviors aligned with core values and care standards, participate in quality improvement activities or research, pursue lifelong learning, serve as preceptor or mentor, integrate ethical considerations and research findings, provide leadership on committees or professional organizations, and advocate for the pediatric patient/family/caregiver. Care Management – Maintain competency in skills/procedures, promote self‑management and family‑centered care, employ diverse strategies to promote health, provide leadership in care management, document and communicate with the healthcare team, delegate appropriately, provide consultation to influence the plan of care, make referrals, perform treatments and procedures, and inform patients/families of results and potential benefits and risks. Evaluation – Utilize systematic, ongoing evaluation of assessment data and outcomes to revise or resolve diagnoses and implementation, evaluate the accuracy of the diagnosis and effectiveness of interventions, involve the patient/family/caregiver and other healthcare providers, base the evaluation process on advanced knowledge, and use results to recommend process or structural changes, including policy, procedure, or protocols. Job Qualifications Master's degree in a related field (Doctorate of Nursing Practice preferred). Willingness to obtain or maintain required clinical license, certification, or training. Experience as an APP in a subspecialty preferred. Licensure and certification in accordance with CCHMC Delineation of Privileges. Multi‑state licensure in addition to Ohio licensure may be required based on subspecialty. Location / Schedule 3440 Burnet, FKA Herald – Full time, rotating shift (United States of America).
