Beaufort Medical Imaging is seeking radiologists for our 2-yr full partnership track positions

Who We are :

• Our group is currently comprised of 7 full-time radiologists and 1 APP.
• As an independent radiologist-owned group, Beaufort Medical Imaging collaborates with Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH), a well-funded local community non-profit hospital in Beaufort, SC.
• Our services encompass all imaging modalities and we have a dedicated interventional radiology (IR) section.
• We currently provide imaging services at four locations including the BMH main hospital, a next door outpatient imaging center, a multi specialty clinic in Okatie, SC, and an imaging center on Hilton Head Island. Just recently, BMH broke ground on an additional facility in Bluffton, SC which is set to open in 2027.
• IR services are provided at the BMH main hospital, and light IR services are anticipated at the new facility opening in 2027.
• The practice has experienced steady growth of 20-25% over the past four years and anticipates further expansion in the foreseeable future. This growth is attributed to the continued popularity of the region both within South Carolina and throughout the country, having become an ideal location for families, retirees, and those looking to live in the beautiful geographic region know as the Lowcountry.

Who we are seekin g:

• General radiologists are encouraged to apply as our current radiologists read a wide variety of exam types.
• A radiologist specializing in neuro, thoracic, and/or abdominal imaging would be a valuable addition to our current team.
• Interventional radiology is currently well covered, but there is an impending retirement which will necessitate the hiring of an additional interventional radiologist in the near future.
• While a fellowship would be advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

About the position :

• The majority of work is onsite M-F. Current diagnostic day shifts include 7a-3p, 8a-4:30p, and 9a-5p depending on location. If interested in IR, the rotating IR shift is currently 8a-5:30p.
• We have an evening diagnostic shift (3p-12a) covering the ER and any late inpatient exams. This shift is not required but is open to all radiologists in the group.
• Outsourced teleradiology services commence at midnight on weeknights and at 10 p.m. on weekends.
• Currently, Diagnostic (DR) and IR call shifts are separate. Weekend DR call shifts are remote and divided between all of the radiologists.
• We are always open to increasing remote work opportunities if this would be advantageous for our group.
• Ability to read mammography is preferred but not required
• 8-12 wks vacation per year for years 1 and 2.
• 12+ wks vacation per year after year 2.
• $50,000 signing bonus

Financial and Group Structure:

Two year full partnership track for on-site/hybrid work. Open to partnership track for remote work as well.

Partner compensation is structured with a base salary to facilitate maximum retirement contributions while minimizing W-2 tax liabilities. The remaining portion of the pay is based on the percentage of Full Time Equivalent (FTE) shifts that each partner works out of the total FTEs during the quarter. Shift FTE values are based on the tasks, hours, and risk exposure associated with that assignment, rather than RVUs. This approach promotes a more equitable distribution of DR/IR compensation compared to other groups.

Beaufort Medical Imaging is organized as an umbrella corporation with each partner forming their own sub-LLC, allowing each partner to maximize their individual tax savings.

Our 401K plan offers the highest level of flexibility currently permitted. Our plan manager is a financial advisor who serves as a fiduciary and conducts regular meetings with all partners. Additionally, our health insurance plan qualifies for a Health Savings Account (HSA) which can provide additional tax-free benefits. We have designed the compensation structure to maximize the potential for all partners to achieve financial success.

Location:

Beaufort Memorial Hospital is situated on the waterfront in Beaufort, South Carolina, overlooking the intercostal waterway. The hospital is actively expanding its presence in nearby BlufftonandHilton Head Island. All three of these areas provide easy access to beaches, boating, and an array of other outdoor activities that are often associated with the beautiful setting of the salt marsh. Golfing and saltwater fishing are world class here. Abundant sunshine and beautiful views of the waterways are a welcome sight when leaving the reading room. From Beaufort, the drive to Charleston, SC is only ~1.5 hrs, and the drive tot Savannah, GA is just over 1 hr, making weekend or evening getaways very convenient.
