Property Accountant Real Estate | Maryland | Hybrid Cherry Bekaert is partnering with a well-established, growth-oriented real estate firm to identify a Property Accountant to join its expanding accounting team. Position Overview The Property Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets, including retail and mixed-use properties. This role offers a mix of month-end close, financial reporting, and operational accounting, with visibility into property performance and business decision-making. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned property portfolio Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records Support budgeting and forecasting processes Coordinate with property management teams on operating results, CAM reconciliations, and tenant activity Assist with audit requests and year-end close activities Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls Qualifications 2–10 years of accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate or property management Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field) CPA or CPA-track is a plus, not required Experience with property accounting concepts (CAM, reconciliations, lease accounting, etc.) preferred Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/property management systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar) Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
