• Patient Types: CVA/TIA, Spinal surgeries (ACDF, Laminectomy), stepdown overflow, and various medical conditions including AFIB/RVR, DKA, COPD, and post-cardiac caths
• Patient Ratios: RN: 1:3, CNA: 1:9

What You'll Do

• Provide expert nursing care to adult patients in the stepdown and medical-surgical units
• Manage multiple patient conditions, including cardiac monitoring and IV titrations
• Support and coordinate patient treatments for conditions like AFIB, DKA, and COPD
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and ST
• Monitor and document patient progress using EMR systems like Meditech Expanse
• Participate in orientation and ongoing staff training
• Maintain high standards of safety, including passing EKG competency exams

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Key skills: cardiac monitoring, IV titration (preferred), chest tube management, tracheostomy care, lumbar drains (preferred)
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
