As a full-time staff member, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, physical therapists, and nursing staff to provide comprehensive care. Our organization is committed to creating a positive workplace culture that values collaboration, professionalism, and continuous learning.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in executing tailored treatment plans conceived by the supervising Physical Therapist, utilizing a variety of techniques including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy interventions.Conduct hands-on therapy sessions to help patients improve their mobility, strength, and overall functional capacity, following evidence-based practices.Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, noting any changes and notifying the supervising therapist to adjust treatment plans as necessary.Educate patients and their families on exercises and rehabilitation techniques, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery process.Work cohesively with the healthcare team to discuss patient progress and contribute to meetings focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes.Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records following best practices for documentation.Patient Population / Client FocusIn this role, you will primarily engage with adult patients recovering from various orthopedic conditions, including sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. Your compassionate approach and commitment to excellence will significantly impact their recovery journeys, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care throughout their rehabilitation process.QualificationsA Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance or a related field is required.Current and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an orthopedic setting is essential.Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care and engage positively with patients.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration with patients and healthcare professionals effectively.Preferred ExperienceExperience working in a hospital or high-acuity therapeutic environment is highly preferred.Familiarity with electronic health records and therapy documentation systems to streamline patient management.Compensation and BenefitsThis position offers a competitive yearly salary ranging from $50,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
