Outside Sales Rep

Job Summary

An established industrial equipment and service company is seeking a motivated Outside Sales Rep to develop new business and grow customer relationships throughout the Northwest Washington territory. Based in Seattle, WA, this direct hire opportunity is ideal for a relationship-driven B2B sales professional who enjoys being in the field, meeting customers face-to-face, and turning technical needs into practical solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a territory, build long-term relationships with industrial, manufacturing, maritime, municipal, and commercial customers, and earn uncapped commission based on the business you generate. You will work with supportive internal teams that value responsive service, technical expertise, customer satisfaction, and professional follow-through.

Key Responsibilities

- Generate new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and relationship development.
- Conduct on-site facility visits to understand customer operations and recommend equipment, repair services, and technical solutions.
- Build relationships with plant managers, maintenance managers, engineers, and other key decision-makers.
- Manage the sales territory with a focus on revenue growth, gross margin, customer retention, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare quotes, maintain accurate customer records, follow up on opportunities, and coordinate with internal teams to support customer needs.
- Complete approximately 15 to 20 qualified prospecting calls per day to businesses that have not previously worked with the company.

Compensation and Benefits

- Base salary: $65,000 to $85,000 per year.
- On-target earnings: $100,000 to $160,000+.
- Uncapped commission based on gross margin.
- Monthly vehicle allowance plus mileage reimbursement.

- Field-focused role with approximately 75% customer-facing travel and 25% administrative work, quotes, and follow-up.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Develop new business throughout the Northwest Washington territory.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts through consultative sales and relationship building.
- Conduct customer site visits to identify needs and recommend equipment, repair, and service solutions.
- Manage prospecting, quoting, follow-up, and territory activity to achieve revenue and gross margin goals.

- 3 or more years of successful B2B outside sales experience.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, customer relationship, and territory management skills.
- Consultative sales approach with the ability to ask thoughtful questions and identify customer needs.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn and discuss industrial equipment and technical service solutions.
- Self-motivated, coachable, adaptable, and able to manage time independently in a field-based role.
- Stable work history demonstrating commitment, reliability, and follow-through.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation for daily territory travel.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience selling to industrial, manufacturing, maritime, municipal, or commercial customers.
- Familiarity with equipment sales, repair services, maintenance operations, or technical service environments.
- Existing relationships with plant managers, maintenance managers, engineers, facilities teams, or operations leaders in the Seattle and Northwest Washington market.
