Permatex , a leading manufacturer of premium chemical products, is looking for a skilled 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to keep our production operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably. If you're hands-on, technically sharp, and take pride in preventative maintenance and precision repairs, we want to meet you.\n
What You'll Do \n
\n
\nAs a key member of our Maintenance team, you will:\n
\n

\n
• Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs on filling, packaging, mixing, and building equipment
\n
• Disassemble, repair, and rebuild production machinery with minimal supervision
\n
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance across facility and production equipment
\n
• Diagnose electrical systems using a multimeter (24VDC & 120VAC I/O controls)
\n
• Work with PLC systems, air logic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
\n
• Interpret blueprints, machine drawings, and schematics to determine root cause
\n
• Perform advanced electrical, welding, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
\n
• Fabricate fixtures and parts using machine tools when needed
\n
• Train and guide other mechanics while maintaining high workmanship standards
\n
• Initiate work orders and document repairs and abnormal conditions
\n

What You Bring \n
\n

\n
• High School Diploma or GED
\n
• 3-5 years of technical trade experience in industrial maintenance
\n
• Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting background (highly preferred)
\n
• Experience with PLCs, controls, hydraulics & pneumatics
\n
• Ability to troubleshoot using a multimeter
\n
• Experience operating powered industrial trucks (a plus)
\n
• Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills
\n
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in active manufacturing environments
\n

Work Environment \n

\nThis is a hands-on manufacturing role requiring:\n
\n

• Standing/walking for most of your shift
\n
• Climbing, bending, lifting, and twisting
\n
• Working around chemicals, noise, heat/cold, and heights
\n

Compensation Information: \n
\n
\nThis position pays between $29-$35 an hour depending on experience and job history. There is also a $1/hr differential for 3rd Shift.\n
