Radar Analysis IPT Lead

Position Overview We are seeking a highly technical, hands‑on Radar Analysis IPT Lead to execute and lead radar performance modeling and analysis activities for an advanced radar system. This role involves direct performance analysis while guiding a small team of analysts. The IPT Lead will leverage and adapt existing radar modeling and simulation toolsets to assess detection, tracking, and system‑level performance in realistic operational environments. Primary Responsibilities Directly execute radar performance modeling using established tool suites (MATLAB, Python‑based frameworks, C++ models, etc.). Adapt legacy radar performance tools to current system architecture and requirements. Assess applicability of previously developed radar performance models to current design. Modify and extend modeling frameworks to reflect updated RF architectures, antenna/beamforming differences, and processing chain updates. Analyze detection performance (CFAR variants, threshold selection) and evaluate tracking filter performance (e.g., Kalman‑based estimators). Assess dwell time, PRF selection, waveform trade‑offs, and coherent integration impacts. Identify algorithm sensitivities that drive system‑level performance risk. Lead a small radar analysis team while remaining the primary technical contributor. Review and approve analysis products and technical reports. Present quantitative performance assessments to program leadership and customers. Provide clear, data‑driven recommendations to influence system design decisions. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; 8–12 years of hands‑on radar performance analysis experience. Proficiency in MATLAB for radar performance modeling. Strong communication skills in a collaborative lab environment and in interfacing with customers. U.S. citizen with a maintained Final Secret Clearance. Resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate. Preferred Qualifications Experience transitioning analysis tools between programs. Familiarity with hardware performance drivers (noise figure, linearity, antenna gain patterns). Experience correlating simulation results with flight or range test data. Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $107,900.00 – $195,050.00. Benefits include competitive compensation, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement.
