Emergency Dispatcher

Job Title

Answer all in-coming calls, welcome visitors and direct them to the appropriate personnel or department for assistance.

Hourly Range

$16.00-$23.00

Full Time Benefits

In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for answering four 911 telephone lines and eight administration telephone lines. Ensuring that phone messages are taken accurately and are delivered promptly.
• Responsible for answering a 20-25 channel radio and dispatching calls to the appropriate agency.
• Responsible for logging all incoming and outgoing phone and radio calls.
• Responsible for greeting individuals who come into the office and directing them to the appropriate staff or agency.
• Assist in maintaining files and perform general clerical duties.
• Assist responders as needed
• All other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police

Additional Responsibilities

Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

Minimum Qualifications For Consideration

• Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Computer skills, including Word, Excel and Access.
• Report writing and data entry skills.
• Must be able to type 50 wpm.
• Knowledge of other office equipment.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to stay calm in emergency situations.
• Must be able to multitask.

Physical Requirements

Sitting or standing for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping. Good finger dexterity and feeling for frequent repetitive motions; verbal, audible, and visual acuity. Occasional lifting (up to 50lbs)
