Trading Operations Team Lead Responsible for building and managing a global team of trading operations professionals supporting daily trading activities for clients. Build the infrastructure of the post‑trade lifecycle for various digital asset instruments, ensuring timely settlements, reconciliation, and strong risk mitigation. Deep understanding of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, financial operations, and risk management. Problem solver with strong technical, organizational and communication skills to drive business outcomes. Full understanding of settlement operations, regulatory and operational considerations. Support client interactions across multiple teams and work closely with trading and other client operations areas to develop and refine processes. Technical Skills Leverage deep understanding of traditional financial services, products and strategies to provide thought leadership and strategic support to clients. Lead efforts to develop and refine processes for managing counterparty and client post‑trade processing, defining performance metrics (SLAs, KPIs) and ensuring they are met while enabling operational scalability. Oversee and mentor a global team responsible for executing spot, lending, and derivatives operations, ensuring alignment with broader strategic objectives. Utilize blockchain explorers, trading platforms and relevant tools to reconcile and monitor activity of different digital assets across internal ledgers and external systems. Perform cash positioning and inventory management for various product flows to optimize treasury management, mitigate risks and streamline settlement processes. Serve as key liaison between operational teams and engineering/product teams, advocating for operational needs and shaping development road‑maps. Collaborate with Accounting and Finance to ensure timely provision of accurate trade and settlement data and assist in resolving breakages. Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Stay ahead of developments in the crypto industry, deeply understanding tokens, protocols, and verticals such as staking and governance. Complexity and Impact of Work Proactively engage with business partners to adapt quickly as strategies evolve and new products/tasks are introduced. Manage complexities of designing processes for reconciling and settling transactions involving a wide range of digital assets. Inspire and lead a high‑performing team, prioritizing competing demands and ensuring deadlines are met to drive operational excellence. Identify operational priorities, create internal presentations, reports, and lead projects to advocate for enhanced processes or develop new tasks. Manage individual contributors, building a team capable of delivering core tasks autonomously. Effectively gauge, communicate, and mitigate risks to the organization and clients, addressing complicated questions thoughtfully. Organizational Knowledge Keep self and team updated with evolving cryptocurrency industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and best practices. Possess a comprehensive understanding of different cryptocurrencies, underlying technologies, and custodial operational processes. Share knowledge within the team and with business partners, avoiding single points of failure. Be familiar with responsibilities and interests of interdepartmental teams, fostering collaborative relationships to achieve common goals. Communication and Influence Directly manage and coach team members, identifying shortcomings in current processes. Exhibit executive presence when interfacing with financial investors and C‑level executives. Lead discussions within the team to improve processes and convey insights with impact when addressing projects and issues. Forge relationships with key partners, especially Compliance and Product, and external counterparties. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, such as traders, operations teams, compliance officers, and executives. You may be a fit for this role if: 7+ years experience supporting post‑trade activities of institutional clients in both traditional asset classes and crypto assets. Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and agility to identify emerging risks, brainstorm solutions, and pivot when goals change. Led the creation of end‑to‑end trade operations processes, from trade capture and settlement to reconciliation, derivatives and risk management. A track record of assembling and leading teams that are efficient and adaptable amid evolving business needs. Bonus points if: Experience in Python and SQL.
