Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly driven, decisive, and solutions-oriented Freight Coordinator to manage over-the-road (OTR) and ocean container shipments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is comfortable making quick decisions, solving problems in real time, and holding carriers accountable to meet service expectations.

The ideal candidate brings a strong sense of urgency, takes ownership of outcomes, and can confidently manage challenging situations while maintaining strong relationships with carriers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispatch & Execution:
  Coordinate and manage daily pickup and delivery schedules across OTR and ocean shipments, ensuring on-time performance.
• Real-Time Problem Solving:
  Quickly identify and resolve issues such as delays, missed pickups, or capacity shortages. Make decisions independently when needed to keep freight moving.
• Carrier Management & Accountability:
  Maintain constant communication with carriers and enforce service expectations. Address performance issues directly and ensure compliance with company standards.
• High-Volume Prioritization:
  Manage multiple shipments simultaneously while prioritizing urgent issues and shifting demands.
• Communication:
  Act as the central point of contact between carriers, sales, and internal teams. Provide clear, timely updates and solutions.
• Carrier Vetting & Compliance:
  Onboard new carriers and monitor existing partners to ensure compliance with safety, insurance, and performance requirements.
• Data & System Management:
  Accurately enter and maintain shipment data in internal systems and ensure documentation is complete and up to date.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in dispatching, freight coordination, and logistics operations
• Strong decision-making ability in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments
• Comfortable handling difficult conversations and enforcing expectations with carriers
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt quickly to changing conditions

• Strong customer service skills with a focus on responsiveness, communication, and issue resolution

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of transportation processes, regulations, and carrier operations
• Proficiency in dispatch/logistics software and Microsoft Office
• Self-motivated with a high sense of ownership and accountability

Work Environment / Schedule:

• Full-time: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• Fully Remote

• Reports to Freight Manager
