Phlebotomist: 40 Hours Per Week (AM/PM)

Overview Mount Sinai Hospital Location: 1500 S. Fairfield Ave, Chicago, IL 60608 Shift: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation; Rotating Shifts FTE: 1.0 Salary and benefits information: Responsibilities Collect blood specimens and perform laboratory office duties and processing of laboratory specimens. Register patients, enter data into the computer system, accession specimens, answer telephone calls, and process paperwork. Prepare specimens for testing and/or for sending to the central laboratory or a reference laboratory. Handle blood, body fluids and urine specimens according to established procedures. Perform limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director. In some facilities, act as a driver and participate in the on-call rotation as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training required. Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
