Job Title Turbine Mechanic – GE Vernova/FieldCore, Bakersfield, CA. Responsibilities Safely install, maintain, and repair heavy rotating machinery used in power generation. Operate hoists, cranes, chain falls, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, micrometers, rules, squares, plumb bobs, dial indicators, and laser alignment equipment. Read blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures. Manage shipping and receiving of major components for TDC, including inventory control of tools, equipment, and supplies. Perform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches. Execute machining and welding operations to produce parts for lab and shop training equipment. Determine equipment specifications and prepare parts lists for purchasing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devices. Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies and perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs as needed. Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishments. Perform work during holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines. Valid driver's license. Preferred: Associate Degree or higher in a technical field or Gas Turbine Systems. Willing to work 12‑hour day or night shifts and 100% travel.
