General Laborer

Production Associate

This general labor position focuses on supporting production by loading and unloading metal parts at presses, furnaces, and deburring units, and packaging parts according to detailed specifications. You work across three different areas of the facility, giving you exposure to multiple departments, varied job duties, and opportunities to learn new skills. The role involves repetitive lifting of up to 35 pounds and working near hot furnaces in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload metal parts at presses, furnaces, and deburring units in a safe and efficient manner.
• Package parts according to established specifications and quality standards.
• Work across three different areas of the facility and adapt to varying tasks and departmental procedures.
• Perform general production and assembly tasks as directed by production leads or supervisors.
• Conduct basic inspection of parts to verify visual quality, dimensions, and overall conformity.
• Operate production and machine equipment as trained, following all safety and operating procedures.
• Use a computer to enter numbers and production data accurately.
• Apply simple math to verify counts, measurements, and production totals.
• Use micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and plug gauges to check part height and dimensions when required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in a loud and dirty manufacturing environment.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of steel-toe footwear and appropriate clothing.
• Meet attendance expectations and adhere to attendance policies to remain in good standing.
• Participate in training and step programs to learn new departments and expand skills.
• Support team members and contribute to a collaborative, respectful work culture.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of manufacturing or general production experience.
• Experience with loading and unloading parts in a production or warehouse environment.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 35 pounds throughout the shift.
• Comfort working near hot furnaces and in a loud, dirty industrial facility.
• Ability to use a computer to enter numbers and basic production information.
• Proficiency with simple math for counting, measuring, and verifying production data.
• Ability to use micrometers and calipers to measure metal parts accurately.
• Familiarity with thread gauges and plug gauges for checking part specifications.
• Skill in checking height and performing visual quality inspection of metal parts.
• Willingness to work 3rd shift hours (overnight) and occasional mandatory overtime.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and production specifications consistently.
• Strong attention to safety and adherence to required protective footwear and attire.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Interest in learning multiple departments and job duties within a large manufacturing facility.
• Willingness to participate in structured training and step programs to advance skills and pay.
• Ability to work up to 60 hours per week when approved, including overtime on Fridays.
• Comfort working in a very large facility with approximately 700 employees and 400,000 square feet of production space.
• Reliability and commitment to meeting attendance standards and performance expectations.
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support coworkers and recognize others' contributions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Juneau, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $19.00/hr.
