What You'll Do As an Independent Living Skills Trainer, you'll work one-on-one with individuals recovering from acquired brain injuries, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. Your responsibilities will include: Teaching daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, shopping, job readiness, and using public transportation Coaching clients in problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and emotional regulation Monitoring progress and documenting client achievementsSupporting clients in meeting health, safety, and personal goals Connecting individuals with community resources that promote independence and success Encouraging confidence, self-advocacy, and personal growth every step of the way Every client has unique goals, and you'll play an important role in helping them reach their full potential. Qualifications To be considered, applicants must have one of the following: A high school diploma (or equivalent) plus at least two (2) years of verifiable experience working with individuals with brain injuries , or A bachelor's degree plus at least one (1) year of verifiable brain injury-related experience Applicants must also have: Reliable transportation A valid driver's license At least three (3) years of a safe driving record Proof of automobile insurance Flexibility to travel to client locations Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Person-Centered certifications (or the ability to obtain them, if applicable) Who Should Apply?
