General Manager role at McDonald's Description This job posting is for a position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee owns a license to use McDonald’s logos and food products. If hired, the franchisee will be your employer, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is responsible for all employment matters. Responsibilities The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring the establishment meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. The GM works with leaders to set goals and create plans to achieve them. The GM leads a team of Department Managers, helping them set own goals, monitor progress, and provide coaching to improve their departments. The GM may also be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to maintain a capable team. Qualifications Ideal candidates should have prior General Manager experience running high‑volume locations. A background in quick‑service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail. Candidates must be 18 years or older to be a manager in our corporate‑owned and operated restaurants.
