Claims Representative (IAP) - Workers Compensation Training Program | Roseville & Long Beach, CA

Claims Representative (IAP) – Workers Compensation Training Program Location: Roseville, CA or Long Beach, CA – Onsite Start Date: 07/20/26 Salary: $27.69/hr (starting pay in this jurisdiction) PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To be oriented and trained as a new industry professional through a 4‑week learning program, onboarding, and mentorship, developing foundational skills for a career in claims adjusting. Strong communicator Empathetic Multi‑tasker Accountable Structured thinker Ambitious Agile learner Team collaborator ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Attendance and completion of the designated claims professional training program. Adjusting various levels of workers’ compensation claims under close supervision. Processing and responding to incoming mail, emails, and other claim‑related documents according to status. Communicating effectively with injured workers, insureds/employers, medical providers, attorneys and carrier representatives via telephone, video conference, and email. Investigating new and existing claims by collecting medical records, employer reports, and witness statements. Assessing employer/employee relationships, policy verification, coverage, and potential subrogation or fraud indicators. Determining coverage, compensability, and appropriate benefits per jurisdictional guidelines and carrier requirements. Documenting claims files and coding claim activity. Preparing detailed reports of findings and recommendations. Administering claim benefits (indemnity and medical) while maintaining scheduled actions and ensuring state compliance. Participating in virtual and/or in‑person meetings, claim reviews, and business functions as needed for training and discussions. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 2 years of customer service experience or a combination of education and experience. WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Mental: clear conceptual thinking, excellent judgment, problem‑solving, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Physical: computer keyboarding. Audiovisual: hearing, vision, and speaking.
