Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) Boston, Massachusetts. The organization is seeking an OR RN to provide perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced acute surgical setting. Responsibilities include supporting trauma, orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, and general surgery cases while maintaining documentation in the assigned electronic medical record system. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts on weekends as part of a rotation, with the possibility of 8-hour shifts during the week as part of a rotation; minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Registered Nursing (RN) license (license required; willing to wait)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Operating Room (OR)
  • Level 1 trauma center experience
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior travel experience
• Responsibilities:
  • Provide perioperative nursing care for trauma, orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, and ex lap (exploratory laparotomy) cases
  • Support weekend rotation and call coverage based on unit expectations (discretion of manager)
  • Maintain required charting/documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system EPIC
• Additional Information:
  • Case environment and staffing expectations include charge nurse coverage on all shifts.
  • Self-scheduling is available within reason; block scheduling is not guaranteed.
  • Floating requirements are listed as none.
