Surgery Coordinator

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 5:30pm Position Overview Shoal Creek Foot & Ankle Center is seeking a Surgery Coordinator to support our four podiatric surgeons. This is a high‑impact role that serves as the key link between providers, patients, and outside offices to ensure patients are fully prepared for surgery. Success in this role depends on strong follow‑through, clear communication, and the ability to keep patients on track—especially ensuring all required pre‑operative testing is completed within strict timeframes. Key Responsibilities Schedule surgical procedures with hospitals and surgery centers. Communicate with patients regarding pre‑ and post‑operative instructions. Actively manage and track all required pre‑operative clearances and testing (PCP, cardiology, labs, etc.) to ensure completion within the required 30‑day window. Communicate frequently with patients and outside offices to prevent delays or cancellations. Obtain prior authorizations and verify insurance benefits and eligibility. Coordinate surgical equipment and vendor needs. Schedule and manage pre‑ and post‑operative appointments. Maintain accurate, organized surgical documentation. Partner closely with providers to ensure surgical cases move forward as planned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical office or scheduling experience preferred (training available for the right candidate). Strong computer skills; Nextgen Officeexperience a plus. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow up persistently. Ideal Candidate Takes ownership and follows tasks all the way through to completion. Comfortable reminding and guiding patients who may need extra follow‑up. Able to juggle multiple moving pieces without missing deadlines. Calm, dependable, and responsive in a fast‑paced environment.
