Senior Estimator

ColoradoCrete is seeking an experienced, operations-minded Senior Estimator to take ownership of estimating for residential and commercial construction projects across Colorado. This is more than a traditional desk-based estimating position. We're looking for someone who understands how construction actually happens in the field and can connect estimating decisions to project execution. The Senior Estimator will review plans, develop accurate and competitive bids, communicate directly with General Contractors, and partner closely with the operations team as projects move from estimate through completion. Direct experience with ColoradoCrete's specific products is not required. What matters most is significant construction experience, strong estimating fundamentals, operational judgment, and the ability to confidently own projects and relationships.

Responsibilities include:

• Owning the estimating process for residential and commercial construction projects, developing accurate and competitive estimates and proposals.
• Reviewing construction drawings, architectural plans, technical specifications, and bid documents to fully understand project scope and requirements.
• Performing detailed quantity takeoffs and determining material, labor, equipment, and other project costs.
• Developing project budgets and pricing while identifying potential risks, scope gaps, and cost considerations before bids are submitted.
• Managing multiple estimates and bid opportunities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and responsiveness.
• Communicating directly with General Contractors to conduct scope reviews, clarify project requirements, answer questions, and support the bidding process.
• Partnering closely with leadership and operations to transition awarded projects successfully from estimating into execution.
• Providing project management support as needed, helping ensure scope, schedule, budget, and customer expectations remain aligned.
• Maintaining accurate estimating, project, change order, and contract documentation.
• Utilizing platforms such as Procore, Autodesk, and Buildertrend to access plans, ITBs, and project information, along with ColoradoCrete's proprietary scheduling and customer management systems.
• Bringing a practical, field-oriented perspective to estimating and identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and profitability.
• Building strong relationships with General Contractors, customers, vendors, and internal team members.

Qualifications include:

• 10+ years of experience in construction, with significant experience in estimating, project management, field operations, or a combination of these areas.
• Proven ability to develop accurate construction estimates, budgets, bids, and proposals through an organized estimating process.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Solid understanding of construction sequencing, labor, materials, scheduling, and field operations.
• Experience working for a General Contractor, specialty contractor, or larger construction organization is highly valued.
• Bidding and preconstruction experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfort learning construction and estimating technology.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently interact with General Contractors, customers, field teams, and senior leadership.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities without sacrificing attention to detail.
• Practical, operations-minded approach with a willingness to be hands-on and engaged in the day-to-day business.
• Experience with gypsum underlayment or specialty concrete is not required.
