CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Clinical Lab Scientist, you will be instrumental in unraveling medical mysteries, providing crucial diagnostic insights that directly impact patient treatment and recovery. Every day, you will perform complex technical analyses across various laboratory disciplines, meticulously verifying results for accuracy and quality assurance. You will operate and maintain sophisticated instrumentation and collaborate closely with laboratory leadership to uphold the highest standards of practice and patient care. To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a profound dedication to scientific accuracy in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure while working as a critical component of the patient care team.Utilizing a significant amount of independent judgment tests patient samples through various chemical, microscopic, serological, and bacteriologic techniquesAssists management with the maintenance of appropriate policies, procedures and equipment as requestedConducts orientation and training of new personnel and monitors performance of appropriate personnel in the section of primary responsibility as requestedOperates and maintains automated equipment and maintains an adequate inventory of departmental suppliesPerforms quality control, quality assurance, and performance improvement indicators routinely in the departmentMaintains work areas in an appropriate state of orderlinessJob RequirementsRequiredRecent clinical laboratory experienceClinical Lab Scientist: CAPreferredBachelors in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciencesExperience in an acute care hospitalWhere You'll WorkMercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region.
