Job Description
Surgical Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist with the ability to scrub and circulate in various surgical specialties. This position requires expertise in thoracic, trauma, neuro, spine, orthopedic, and robotics procedures.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
Assist in the setup of surgical instruments and equipment.
Scrub and circulate for a variety of cases, including but not limited to:

Orthopedic
Neuro
Maxillofacial
ENT
Plastics
Vascular
Colo-Rectal
General Surgery
Gynecology
Robotics
Urology
Spine
Podiatry
Thoracic
Breast Surgery

Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure operational efficiency and patient safety.
Maintain accurate records and documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system, specifically EPIC.

Qualifications

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be American Heart Association certified).
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a comparable setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in scrubbing and circulating in the specified surgical specialties.

Additional Information

Number of surgical suites: 11
Caseload: Approximately 25-35 cases per day
Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM; shifts are assigned without block scheduling options.
Orientation: Floor-specific, with one week for day shifts and two weeks for night shifts.
Scrubs are provided by the institution.
