Senior Accountant

IDR is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join one of our top clients for a direct-hire opportunity in Louisville, CO . This role will support revenue recognition, contract accounting, and financial reporting within a complex technology and government-contracting environment.

Position Overview for the Senior Revenue Accountant: Perform ASC 606 analysis for commercial and government contracts, including multi-element arrangements, milestone-based agreements, and custom-engineered systems. Review contracts to identify performance obligations and determine appropriate revenue-recognition treatment. Prepare revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and technical accounting documentation. Support monthly and quarterly close processes and ensure accurate revenue reporting. Monitor contract assets, deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and other revenue-related accounts. Partner with program management, legal, FP&A, operations, and contracts teams. Maintain SOX-ready controls and support internal and external audits. Help improve revenue-accounting processes, controls, and reporting. Requirements for the Senior Revenue Accountant: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field and an active CPA license. 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably across public accounting and industry. Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP. Experience with long-term contracts, government contracting, milestone billing, or complex commercial agreements. Experience with monthly close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Familiarity with SOX controls and audit support. Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience within technology, aerospace, defense, engineering, or another project-based industry. Public-company, SEC reporting, or public-company readiness experience.
