Hospital Admitting RegistrarLocation: Nashoba Valley Medical CenterJob description:A hospital admitting registrar is a health care professional who registers patients for admission to hospitals, clinics, and physicians. They registrar will interview patients and review their medical records to determine whether they are eligible for the treatment, services, or procedures offered at the hospital. A hospital registrar also checks in patients who are admitted to the hospital. Their duties include registering patients, assigning rooms, and notifying patients of appointments. Hospital registrars are responsible for completing and checking patients' medical records and for entering data into the hospital computer system.Requirements:Register and maintain hospital records, including patients, employees, and workman's' compensation claimsOversee all reports and documentation relating to patients, employees, and workman's' compensation claimsOversee daily workflow, department schedules, and employee/customer satisfactionMaintain accurate employee records, including new hires, leaving employees, and vacation historyMaintain workplace safety, including developing and maintaining a safe work environmentMaintain effective communication with coworkers, supervisors, and managersProcess patient registration, patient billing and collection, and patient insurance verificationMaintain the medical records department and comply with state and federal regulationsAssist with patient discharge, discharge planning, and follow-up careProvide information to referring physicians, other health professionals, and patientsPerform other related duties as assignedEducation / Experience / Licensure / Technical / Other:Bachelor's degree preferred2+ years of hospital experience preferredExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to prioritize work and achieve goalsExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to multitask and handle multiple prioritiesAbility to work independently and in a teamAbout Steward Health CareNearly a decade ago, Steward Health Care System emerged as a different kind of health care company designed to usher in a new era of wellness.
