Senior Applications Developer (C# / SQL)

Salary: $105,000 - 135,000 per year Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with significant depth in C#/.NET.
• Advanced SQL Server capability, including complex T-SQL, stored procedure development, indexing, execution plan review, and performance tuning on large transactional databases.
• Experience integrating business systems through REST or SOAP APIs, message queues, file-based interfaces, or EDI, including robust error handling and reconciliation.
• Experience working directly with a third-party application database by interpreting an unfamiliar schema and extending a system you did not originally build.
• Disciplined use of source control such as Git, with a practical understanding of testing beyond a local machine run.
• Ability to collect requirements from non-technical stakeholders and convert them into technical design without intermediary support.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Frederick, Maryland.
• Preferred: experience with Epicor Prophet 21, including DynaChange Rules, Screen Designer, Portals, the P21 API, or P21 Middleware.
• Preferred: background with other distribution or manufacturing ERP platforms and their customization layers.
• Preferred: experience in wholesale distribution, industrial supply, or manufacturing environments.
• Preferred: reporting development experience with SSRS, Crystal Reports, Report Studio, InfoMaker, or Power BI.
• Preferred: SQL Server administration experience, including backup strategy, replication, and high availability.
• Preferred: front-end skills such as JavaScript or React for internal tooling.

• Design, build, and support C#/.NET applications, services, and integrations that extend P21 and connect it with our eCommerce storefront, middleware, supplier systems, and internal tools.
• Develop and tune complex T-SQL objects such as stored procedures, views, functions, and queries, including performance optimization where custom logic or reporting affects production.
• Own the P21 customization portfolio, including business rules (DynaChange), custom screens, and extensions, and determine whether a need should be handled through configuration, rules, or application code.
• Convert requirements from Sales, Purchasing, Distribution, and Accounting into working technical solutions, and recommend process changes when code is not the best answer.
• Establish and uphold engineering practices such as source control, code review, a proper test-to-production path, and documentation for each customization.
• Lead upgrade impact analysis by maintaining the customization inventory, identifying breakpoints, and planning remediation before P21 version upgrades.
• Build and maintain reporting and data integrations that provide dependable business information.
• Act as the technical point of contact for Epicor and third-party implementation or development partners, ensuring external work meets the same standards as internal work.
• Mentor junior technical staff and share knowledge so critical systems are not dependent on a single person.
