As a Government Center Security Guard - Unarmed in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a government location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative team, you will put people first and act with integrity every day.

Job Schedule:
DayTimeMon06:00 AM - 06:00 PMTue06:00 PM - 06:00 AMSun06:00 AM - 06:00 PMWhat You'll Do:
- Provide customer service by carrying out assigned security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a government corrections environment.
- Respond to incidents, inmate movement concerns, visitor issues, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established post orders and reporting protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, housing areas, checkpoints, grounds, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorization for staff and visitors, and document observations, incidents, and/or policy violations in accordance with site requirements.
- Support daily operations by communicating with facility personnel, assisting with access control, and following directives for counts, escorts, and/or movement coordination as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
