Adelphi is seeking a full- time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services in a school setting located in Prineville, Oregon.The ideal candidate will work closely with school administration to provide services to students in accordance with established guidelines and standards of practice. •MA or MS Degree.
•Must be eligible for Oregon Teaching License with a Speech Impaired Endorsement or Oregon Board of Examiners Speech Pathology License.
•Eligibility for American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred.
•Experience with itinerant public school service. DESIRED QUALITIES:
•Current CPR Training preferred.
•Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
•Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for, working with children.
•Demonstrated patience, warmth, and capacity for acceptance of children with special needs.
•Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
•Commitment to follow through without direct supervision.
•Strong organizational skills. Responsibilities:
•Conduct student assessments by completing screenings, diagnostic speech/language evaluations, and participating on assessment teams as needed.
•Process referrals and manage assigned cases according to department policies and procedures, including arranging, planning, holding, and reviewing conferences.
•Develop, distribute, and monitor IEPs with support from appropriate staff, ensuring services align with IEP goals and evaluating student progress toward goals and objectives.
•Provide direct and indirect speech, hearing, and language services to students in accordance with their IEPs and individual needs.
•Plan and deliver individualized instruction that considers each student's cultural, behavioral, motivational, and ability differences while maintaining high expectations for achievement.
•Communicate and collaborate with parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and community organizations regarding student progress, available services, instructional support, and program coordination.
•Maintain required documentation, reports, records, confidentiality, and legal compliance in accordance with laws, policies, regulations, and department requirements.
•Create and maintain a positive, safe, respectful, and stimulating learning environment that preserves student dignity, supports learning, and maintains appropriate student control.
•Demonstrate professionalism and cooperation through effective working relationships, punctuality, appropriate attire, good hygiene, constructive communication, and acceptance of feedback for improvement.
•Support school and district responsibilities by providing in-service activities, supervising assistants or volunteers, preparing instructional plans, participating in assigned activities, following curriculum and policy guidelines, pursuing professional growth, and meeting evaluation performance standards.
•Any other duties as assigned.
