Insurance Claims & Risk Specialist

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Claims & Risk Specialist to join a growing team focused on automotive insurance and GAP claims administration. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of insurance claims, ensuring claims are handled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in automotive insurance claims, total loss settlements, and GAP claims processing. This individual will serve as a key resource for complex claim matters, collaborate with insurance carriers and third-party partners, and support efforts to improve operational efficiency and claims accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of automotive insurance claims, including claim intake, investigation, documentation review, settlement validation, and final resolution.
• Review complex or high-exposure claims and assist in determining appropriate resolution strategies.
• Serve as a liaison between insurance carriers, adjusters, repair facilities, customers, lenders, and internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate total loss settlements to ensure accurate vehicle valuations, lienholder protection, and proper application of insurance proceeds.
• Process and manage a high volume of insurance and GAP claims while maintaining accuracy and service-level expectations.
• Review claims for compliance with established procedures and workflow requirements.
• Calculate and reconcile insurance proceeds, settlements, claim payments, and account adjustments.
• Identify opportunities to streamline claims processes, improve turnaround times, and increase operational efficiency.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex insurance and GAP claim issues.
• Assist with training and educating team members on new procedures, systems, and claim requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Experience handling automotive insurance claims.
• Experience processing or reviewing GAP claims.
• Knowledge of total loss claim settlements and vehicle valuation processes.
• Experience reconciling claim payments, insurance proceeds, or financial adjustments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling escalated or complex insurance claims.
• Familiarity with title processing and lienholder requirements.
• Experience working directly with insurance carriers, adjusters, lenders, and third-party vendors.
• Experience training or mentoring team members on claims processes and procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Forest, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a hybrid position in Lake Forest,CA.
