Role Description The Legislative Assistant role at RE/MAX LEA is a full-time, on-site position based in Dearborn Heights, MI. The individual in this role supports the organization’s engagement with local, state, and federal legislative matters affecting real estate and community development. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring legislation and policy changes, conducting legislative research, preparing briefs and summaries, and maintaining organized records of relevant laws and regulatory updates. The Legislative Assistant will draft correspondence, talking points, and reports, and support communication with government offices, industry associations, and community stakeholders. This role also involves coordinating meetings, tracking key deadlines, and providing administrative support to leadership on legislative and regulatory initiatives. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Legislative Research and a strong understanding of Law relevant to real estate and community policy. Candidates should possess skills in Legislation, including tracking bills, analyzing policy impacts, and summarizing regulatory changes. Candidates should possess skills in Legislative Relations, including maintaining professional relationships with government offices and stakeholder organizations. Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, drafting emails, reports, and briefing documents. Relevant qualifications include strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. A bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory compliance is beneficial.
