Founding Business Development Rep

About the Role
This is a founding BDR role at an AI-native legal services company, where you will build the outbound engine from scratch and own pipeline generation end-to-end. Sitting at the center of go-to-market, you will shape how the company reaches fast-moving startups and their decision-makers, making this a high-impact, high-ownership opportunity at an early-stage company.
What You'll Do
Run high-volume outbound prospecting across email, phone, and LinkedIn to build qualified pipeline.
Prospect and qualify leads, finding creative ways to consistently book meetings with decision-makers.
Own the full sales motion from sourcing through closing qualified opportunities into revenue.
Build feedback loops that sharpen messaging, improve targeting, and raise outbound execution quality.
Continuously identify ways to move faster, increase quality, and scale pipeline generation.
What We're Looking For
1 to 2 years of sales experience at a high-growth startup, with a track record of hitting or exceeding quota.
Proven success running high-volume outbound campaigns and booking qualified meetings through cold outreach.
Experience prospecting and selling into startups, founders, or operations buyers.
Ability to build and iterate on outbound messaging and targeting strategies based on performance data.
Strong written communicator whose cold emails and follow-ups consistently drive responses.
Ownership mentality: you take full responsibility for outcomes and find a way to deliver under pressure.
Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Resilience in the face of rejection and a drive to iterate and improve continuously.
Willingness to work at an intense pace in a high-bar environment; this role is on-site, six days a week.
Exposure to legal tech, contract management, or B2B legal services is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Location
On-site in San Francisco, CA. This is a fully in-person role.
