Agricultural Transportation Operator

Operate heavy trucks and tractor-trailer equipment to transport grain, fertilizer, seed, and other agricultural materials in support of farming and custom agricultural hauling operations.

Duties include:

• Transport grain from fields to grain elevators, storage facilities, receiving facilities, and other locations.
• Transport fertilizer, seed, and other agricultural inputs to farms and fields.
• Perform custom agricultural hauling for agricultural producers and businesses.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload agricultural commodities and materials.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment and perform routine maintenance checks.
• Maintain required transportation, delivery, mileage, and inspection records.
• Follow assigned routes, schedules, and applicable safety requirements.
• Report vehicle, equipment, or safety issues to the employer.
• Communicate with farm personnel, customers, grain facilities, and other personnel as needed.
• Perform other related agricultural transportation and hauling duties as assigned.

Work schedules and duties may vary based on weather, crop conditions, planting and harvest schedules, grain volumes, customer needs, and other agricultural requirements. Extended hours, weekends, and holidays may be required during peak agricultural periods.

Minimum Education Required: None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required: Must have a minimum of 36 months experience. Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and have prior commercial driving experience. Applicants must have a clean driving record and maintain an insurable driver's license. Drug/alcohol/tobacco-free work zone. Perform physical activities such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling, positioning, moving, and manipulating materials. Repetitive movements are required. Must use static strength to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 75 lbs. All applicants must be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Work is performed outdoors and employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions. Must be capable of performing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+/-).

Additional Compensation: As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

Job Benefits: EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 04/07/2026). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
