Job Description

Support a small clerk team in delivering retail counter services, mail sorting and distribution, package acceptance and dispatch, and other mixed postal operations. This role serves customers, processes transactions accurately, and helps maintain efficient post office operations across seasonally variable and generally moderate daily volumes.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide counter service and assist customers with postal needs.
• Process, sort, distribute, accept, and dispatch mail and packages.
• Sell postage and postal products, calculate postage, and process money orders.
• Verify addresses and classify mail accurately.
• Handle cash and complete daily transaction reconciliation.
• Track packages and assist customers with shipment information.
• Manage customer queues and maintain efficient service during seasonal volume changes.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in postal or retail customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of mail classification and postage calculation.
• Experience with cash handling and package tracking systems.
• Customer service, attention to detail, and communication skills.
