Due to continued growth, ourPower Delivery group is seekingaSubstation Designer - Physical Designer in one of the following office locations: Houston, TX Orlando, FL Overland Park, KS Kennesaw, GA Remote This position may be filled as a Drafter or Designer. Job title and job level will be determined based upon candidate's qualifications and experience. Responsibilities Imagine a day where you're designing the backbone of the power grid-drafting substation layouts and details that keep energy flowing safely. You collaborate with engineers across disciplines, solve real-world challenges, and see your designs come to life in the field. Every detail you contribute will help power entire communities-safely, reliably, and sustainably. Substation Design & Drafting : Develop or draft electric substation drawings, including General Arrangements, Elevations, Conduit Plans/Details, Grounding Plans/Details, Foundation Plans, Lightning Protection plans, and control building layouts. Work closely with the Civil Engineering department to develop substation foundation and structure detail drawings Engineering Analysis & Calculations : Perform basic substation design calculations lightning protection, voltage drop, and conduit fill Collaboration & Quality Assurance : Work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of electrical design that meets client and industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices Field Support : Providing on-site technical support for select ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of 1 year of experience in Substation drafting and/or designing, with a primary focus on executing physical drafting and/or design projects Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD Willingness to enter energized electric substations with proper training and PPE Must be self-driven in time management to meet deadlines and provide accurate deliverables, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders Must be proficient with typical office software including Microsoft Windows and Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings Preferred Qualifications 3 years of experience in Substation drafting and/or designing, with a primary focus on executing physical drafting and/or design projects Experience working in electric utility industry, preferably in fast-paced consulting environment 500kV substationdesignexperience Compensation Range USD $54,400.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
