Respiratory Therapist II - PRN Nights

Work Schedule 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, rotating weekends and holidays, PRN as needed. Location Brunswick Medical Center, 240 Hospital Drive NE, Bolivia, North Carolina 28442. Department Respiratory Care – Registered Respiratory Therapist. Responsibilities Works under the supervision of the Manager. As directed by a physician, administer a variety of simple and complex treatments and tests. Collaborate with medical director and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized treatment plans for program participants. Responsible for the competent delivery of all routine and emergent respiratory care services as described in the Respiratory Care policy and procedure manual. Explain purpose and procedure of treatments, tests and equipment to patients. Record all pertinent information of treatments, including patient response, in the patient’s chart. Act as a patient advocate, incorporating education in the interdisciplinary care plan. Prioritize job duties according to patients’ needs and changing acuity levels and ensure timely completion of care interventions and medical orders. Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers and transport patients. Assess patient needs and provide routine respiratory care such as ABGs and bronchial hygiene therapy. Perform higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations, including ventilator management, code blue response, airway management, and interpretation/intervention with blood gas analysis. Demonstrate independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care and practice according to state requirements and standards. Qualifications Associate Degree (2‑year) required; Bachelor’s Degree (4‑year) preferred. Current RCP licensure in the appropriate state.
